Young Talent showcased at Merseyway in Stockport
Yesterday’s Teenage Market in Merseyway Shopping Centre was a huge success — full of creativity, confidence, and community spirit! 🎉
With 12 young traders taking part, some trading for the very first time, the event brought the centre of Stockport to life with the unique creative talents of young people. From handmade crafts and jewellery to art prints and sweet treats, it was brilliant to see so much originality and entrepreneurial spirit on display.
Alongside the vibrant stalls, the event featured an interactive art zone and a pop-up skatepark from Send It Skatepark, which proved incredibly popular throughout the day. It was especially inspiring to see so many young girls getting involved with the skatepark — one group even challenged each other to take on the mini-ramp! 🛹👏
We were also joined by Make Build Grow CIC, who proudly showcased the creative work of their community in Cheadle Heath, adding even more local creativity to the mix, Merseyway Workshop, who ran interactive clay-making workshops and Ohana Theatre, who volunteered to help run our child-friendly art-zone.
But it’s the voices of our young traders that truly show the impact:
“I always wanted to have a stall in a shopping centre and today I had the opportunity to do that!”
“The organisers are lovely and the setup was amazing”
“It’s been a great social space and I’ve loved how many people I’ve engaged with.”
“I sold out of all my stuff!”
“It went really well and was great for building confidence.”
“Loved the location!”
A huge thank you to everyone who supported this event — especially our sponsors and partners Kao Data, Brsk, CDL Software, Totally Stockport and CBRE UK for helping make it happen. 💙
The Teenage Market continues to give young people the chance to build their small businesses, grow their confidence and connect with their community — and Stockport showed once again what a difference that can make.
