Place For Youth at the Warwickshire Skills Show 2026

6th March, 2026

Place For Youth were delighted to be part of the recent Warwickshire Skills Show, a fantastic event that brought together young people from across the county to explore future career pathways, develop new skills and connect with organisations offering real opportunities.

The event, led by Warwickshire County Council and held at the Coventry Building Society Arena, showcased a wide range of sectors and support available to young people as they begin to shape their futures, from education and training providers to employers and community organisations. It was inspiring to see such a strong commitment to supporting the next generation, and to be part of an event that puts young people at the centre of that conversation.

Engaging Young People Ahead of Teenage Market Events

Throughout the day, we had the opportunity to speak with a large number of young people about their interests, ambitions and creative ideas. These conversations were particularly valuable as we continue to roll out Teenage Market events across Warwickshire.

We were encouraged by the enthusiasm and entrepreneurial spirit on display, with many young people keen to explore how they could turn their passions into something more. As a direct result of these conversations, we saw a number of sign-ups from young people applying to take part in upcoming Teenage Market events — an exciting indication of the demand for accessible, real-world opportunities to build confidence and experience.

Creating Pathways from Inspiration to Action

Events like the Warwickshire Skills Show play a vital role in helping young people understand what is possible. At Place For Youth, our role is to provide a clear next step for young people to take action, test ideas and begin their journey in a supportive, low-risk environment.

The Teenage Market offers exactly that: a space where young people can develop enterprise skills, engage with customers, and build confidence in their own abilities.

Building Strong Local Partnerships

We also valued the opportunity to connect with partners and stakeholders from across the county, including representatives from Warwickshire County Council. It was a pleasure to speak with the Chief Executive and other members of the team about the shared ambition to support young people and strengthen local communities through meaningful opportunities.

These partnerships are key to delivering impactful, place-based programmes that create lasting benefits for both young people and town centres.

Looking Ahead

As we continue to deliver Teenage Market events across Warwickshire, the conversations and connections made at the Skills Show will play an important role in shaping what comes next.

We are excited to see many of the young people we met take their first steps into trading, creativity and enterprise — and to continue building a network of opportunities that empowers them to turn their ideas into reality.
