Place for Youth x Respect & Dignity Arts: Hyndburn Project Funded!

We’re delighted to share that our joint project with Respect & Dignity Arts, Creating Kindness: Enterprise in Action, has been successfully funded through the Hyndburn Culture, Arts & Heritage Grant Programme 2025/26, supported by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. 🙌

This inspiring new project will empower young people across Hyndburn to design, create and launch their own kindness-themed apparel collection, combining creativity, commerce, and community values in one powerful initiative.

Through a series of hands-on workshops led by professional creative practitioners, young participants aged 13–25 will explore design thinking, branding, and social messaging — transforming their ideas into wearable art that celebrates kindness and positive values. They’ll co-design every stage of the process, from concept and visual design to marketing and launch, gaining real-world experience in creative enterprise, teamwork and leadership.

The project will culminate in a weekend pop-up shop in Accrington town centre, where the young designers will showcase and sell their collection to the public. All profits will go towards a cause chosen by the participants, putting “kindness in action” at the heart of the project. 💚

Alongside Place for Youth CIC’s expertise in youth-led placemaking and enterprise, Respect & Dignity Arts will play a key role in engaging under-represented young people and delivering creative mentoring throughout the process. Together, we’ll equip participants with practical skills in fashion, product design and business, while helping them express their ideas about kindness, inclusion, and community through creativity.

We can’t wait to get started later this year and bring this exciting project to life — turning kindness into creativity, and creativity into action.

👉 Keep an eye on our channels for updates as Creating Kindness: Enterprise in Action begins in September 2025!
